Effective date: June 1, 2025 ยท Last updated: June 1, 2025 ยท Applies to the TimeCalc browser extension (Brave / Chrome)
We collect nothing about you โ ever.
The extension never contacts any server.
No cookies, no fingerprinting, no tracking.
Only your output mode is stored โ in your own browser.
TimeCalc is a browser extension for Brave and Google Chrome that helps you add and subtract time durations. This Privacy Policy explains what data the extension handles, how it is stored, and what your rights are.
Short version: TimeCalc collects no personal information, sends no data to any server, and requires no account. The only thing stored is your preferred output mode, which stays in your browser's local storage and never leaves your device.
TimeCalc collects no personal data. The table below describes every piece of information the extension touches:
| Data | Purpose | Storage | Sent to server? | Retained? |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| outputMode | Remember your last selected output mode (Clock, Natural, Work, Hours, All) | chrome.storage.local โ your device only | No | Until you clear extension data or uninstall |
| Time values you type | Parsed in memory to perform calculations | RAM only โ cleared when popup closes | No | No |
No other data is accessed, stored, or transmitted.
The extension requests a single browser permission:
storage โ Used exclusively to save and restore your selected
output mode via chrome.storage.local. This is a device-local API; nothing is
synced to Chrome's cloud sync or sent anywhere.
No other permissions are requested โ no access to browsing history, tabs, cookies, clipboard, camera, microphone, or any website content.
TimeCalc performs zero network requests. The extension operates entirely offline. There is no analytics SDK, no error reporting service, no update beacon, and no third-party library that makes network calls. You can verify this yourself by inspecting the extension's source or monitoring network traffic while using it.
The extension includes an optional "โ Support" panel in the popup that displays a UPI QR code image. The image is bundled with the extension and loaded locally โ no external network request is made. The UPI ID shown is for voluntary donations only; no data is sent automatically and using it is entirely optional.
TimeCalc does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, crash reporting, or data collection services. No third-party code runs inside the extension.
Because we collect no data, there is nothing to share. We do not sell, rent, or transfer any information to third parties โ not now, not ever.
TimeCalc is a general-purpose utility with no age restriction and no user accounts. Because we collect no personal information, the extension is safe for users of all ages. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13 (or any user, for that matter).
The only stored item (outputMode) is retained in your browser's local extension
storage for convenience. You can delete it at any time by:
chrome://extensions โ Details โ Clear data).
None of this data exists anywhere other than your own device, so no request to us is needed.
Since TimeCalc does not transmit or store personal data externally, there is no server-side attack surface. All extension code runs locally in your browser's sandboxed extension environment, subject to Chrome/Brave's built-in security model and Manifest V3 Content Security Policy restrictions.
If we ever update this Privacy Policy, the revised version will be published at this URL with an updated "Last updated" date at the top. Because the extension does not collect contact information, we are unable to notify you directly โ please revisit this page if you want to stay informed.
We do not anticipate material changes, as the extension's design is intentionally privacy-preserving by collecting nothing in the first place.
